Ryleigh Farson, Abilene High School freshman, was in an utility terrain vehicle accident July 30 outside her family home. Farson spent three weeks in the hospital undergoing several surgeries and will be entering a new journey of getting a prosthetic towards the end of the year. The accident was a cause of an overcorrection where the UTV flipped.The ordinance will go into effect May 1. The commission will now meet on the second and fourth Monday of each month. The start time remains at 4 p.m. Study sessions will begin 15 minutes after regular meetings no earlier than 4:30 p.m. The commission also approved the Wild Bill Hickok Rodeo Committee's proposed renovations to the rodeo arena.
