Apr 14, 2023 · The new Netflix action flick Seven Kings Must Die finally wraps up the saga of Uhtred of Bebbanburg ( Alexander Dreymon ), the unification of England, and the story started by The Last Kingdom.... So many shows ruin a story for the sake of a darker ending. Or worse, some "happy" endings feel forced and not too organic. TLK feels like they achieved the perfect balance between the tragedy of this season (e.g. Aethelflaed dying) vs. Uhtred finally getting back Bebbanburg, with his kids and his numerous comrades surviving. It gave him an excuse to continue being who he was. Because Uhtred knows Athelstan is gay, it allowed the kid to live his life without outside pressure to marry/procreate.
