BillE.Dee, I have a Millermatic 255. In the manual, it explains how to "calibrate" a spool gun to the machine. The Aluma-pro push-pull gun is plug in and go, no "calibration" needed. Nov 1, 2021 · I have had my Miller Multimatic 255 since June. I haven't needed to change a contact tip yet (except to change wire size). I have been welding 1/8th and 1/4 inch steel with 0.035 wire and 0.045 wire, in pulse and short circuit mode. I also have been using a mix of autoset and manually adjusting the volts and wire feed speed.
