Loving the design and ingenuity for the thing. But I have some questions: Why does it take an hour to get clean, blue smoke after lighting? The Gravity 980 grill has the capacity to cook at 200°F which is pretty good for low and slow, though doesn't give the same low range as some pellet grills. It reaches an impressive 600°F for those looking to grill and sear and need plenty of heat to get started. Build QualityDespite the ability to hit some high temps on the 980, its still an offset smoker, not as good a direct grill like the akorn. I've used the akorn very little in the past 6 months, but have rolled it out for use recently as the fan died last week on the 980. A few emails to CG support and a new fan and controller are on their way.
