May 12, 2015 · Community is both a feeling and a set of relationships among people. People form and maintain communities to meet common needs. Members of a community have a sense of trust, belonging, safety, and caring for each other. However, the issue goes beyond just European high fantasy themes. Another issue that we need to address in the communities tangential to the poly community is cultural appropriation. This can take many forms, including the whitewashing of yoga and the appropriation of traditional eastern medical practices, for example.
