I do this glitch all of time since its my third system 100%ing-. Step one, put the soul or humanity in the second item slot. For ds1 remastered, there is a glitch you can do that gives you a metric fuckton of souls. Grab the biggest non-boss soul you have and put all but one in the bottomless box so you only have one in your inventory.
