I just started trying to do delving. Built the bench, put 38 Eldarium (I think its only 20 needed, but I just put all I currently have), along with 2 100% durability Hardened Steel Axes along with one that is at like 20%. I confirmed the "play" button is going right but in the lower left corner where its supposed to show the "progress" nothing ...I would say its higher than 10% or less probably closer to 20-25% without looking it up. The main issue with delving though is repeat recipes that can take your chances of getting what you really want down to like 1% the more you delve. Saying I want the axe annoying shard for gouging.
