The highest predictive factor for USMLE score is prior standardized exam score ( SAT/MCAT etc etc) AOA, atleast at my school and most I have personally heard of, have a significant portion of qualification coming from board scores, and shelf scores. I didn't need letters from aways, so was okay with doing them after ERAS if needed. Wanted a fourth year medicine letter for my prelim apps, so did my required medicine sub-I before ERAS. Obviously need home derm before ERAS.Passed step 1, Twice! For all scared non us imgs! I am a non us img with step 1 of 214, step 2 212 and step 3 212. I graduated in 2020. I had 7 published papers and applied for IM. I received 3 Ivs and matched! So really score isn't the stopping factor for our journey. Perseverance is the key.
