I was using a Raw Astora Straight Sword and using Carthus Flame Arc and it does more damage than my Chaos infused weapons. I think once you get to at least 40/40 in INt and Fth, you should stick to using the Flame Arc. The Cartus Beacon works well by the way if using a fast weapon.
