One says 2D E and are on either side of the bending mark while another says IV E and is located above the bending mark. A very nice bayonet that's had a hard life, but with a little TLC, should be displayed with pride. It is a quite early (6 ‘09; June 1909) Pattern 1907 bayonet, made at the Royal Small Arms Factory, Enfield (EFD).. The pommel lacks (correctly) the clearance hole that was implemented in 1916.
