Ffxiv instant portrait not working

I'm simply setting the portrait as an instant portrait through the portrait interface, and then changing jobs. My understanding was that this should automatically match the portrait to my current job and gear. This issue does not happen if I link each gear set to the same portrait. But it still doesn't seem like this is working as intended.There are some hats that Viera unable to use. If your previous race used a glam, or has a glam plate with those hats saved on it, its just not gonna work with Viera now. Perhaps that is the problem.
