The Order Police (Ordnungspolizei, Orpo) were Nazi Germany’s uniformed police forces. Typically, uniformed police forces are responsible for maintaining order, directing traffic, and responding to accidents and crimes. The Nazi Order Police did perform these ordinary tasks.
