The 2000 has always been a 3 cylinder tractor, it was a slightly altered Ford version of the Fordson Super Dexta, the 4000 4 cylinder was produced from '62 to '64 and replaced the 800/900 series 4 cyl tractors. In '65 the 4000 went to a 3 cylinder engine. The '62 2000 was rated around 30.52 HP (gas), 38.8 HP (Diesel) and had that rating until '65.There were 2 different Ford 2000 tractors. The earlier one, made from 1961-1964 had a 4 cylinder engine and the later one made from 1965-1975 had a 3 cylinder engine.
