This is your “modem”, it coverts the fiber signal into Ethernet for a router. You unfortunately can’t buy a third party ONT and use it on their system, most fiber ISPs have this restriction.So I have ATt fiber 1 gb service,they rewired subdivision few years ago ,fiber directly to each home,previously they had a hybrid type system with Nodes every certain distance,was good not as fast. Anyway ,( Boca) service has been solid ,few issues almost none that I can recall I don't use their wifi ,have my own Router,switch etc.

If your connection is like mine the fiber terminates in an ONT with Ethernet from that running into their gateway. You need that to provide you with your Internet address. I turned off Wi-Fi in the gateway and run my ethernet to my router, and that handles all of my devices.

Over the past few weeks I have had some connection issues but they are very good about getting someone out either the same day or the next. And the techs have been super helpful when they have been out. 1.I got the 2gig fiber up and running. Thinking about getting 5 gig but can't find a real use given the cost of 2 gig business fiber ($225) vs 5 gig business fiber ($395) for my home. I'm running 10gbe network so no issues with my network able to handle the speeds. Checked Friday for availability and nada.Status light.
