Congrats on the 454 Alaskan. I have both the 44 and 454 Alaskan and enjoy each touch of the trigger on either. I also like the non fluted cylinder. As far as end shake, I've never noticed enough to check with a gauge. I also put the old style Lett grips on mine. I prefer the full size Letts but do shoot the 44 with the compact grips. The heaviest loads that I could control on D/A in the .454 could be replicated in the .44, so I sold the .454 and later acquired one in .44 Magnum. It was a very slick gun after tuning, and I even carried it concealed a time or two.These revolvers have all-stainless steel construction and are currently available in either 44 Magnum or 454 Casull.
