In partnership with the National Park Service, the organization works to protect and enhance the largest expanse of tallgrass prairie left in the world. In 2009, 13 bison were shipped from South Dakota to the preserve. This small satellite herd now numbers 100 and is the first bison to roam the prairie in over 100 years.
