It’s not a documentary about one crime, each episode has a few stories of people surviving crimes with the real victims. Stories range from armed robberies to assaults to shootings. My husband and I just started watching it and like it so far.Women are just great students of crime. Many of our leading mystery writers are women (Agatha Christie and so on). Probably a combination of empathy for the victims and the constant realization that women aren't always safe in the real world, which causes them to have a keen interest in fictional and true crime. I remember reading somewhere that empaths are drawn to true crime because murder and empathy are opposites end of the scale.
