Well, Jordas also have a damage multiplier for the engine/weakspot, so I think that's why you can mow down Jordas quicker than Lephantis. Magnetic damage doesn't even got any positive or negative effect on Lephantis armor. And Velocitus mainly does magnetic damage, which ain't good toward infested.

Velocitus is the best "sniper" in-game now. Using 2 of the 120% elementals, it has 22k damage in a single shot, and that's not taking into consideration the now 120% crit chance on full charge AND the 6.5 crit damage multiplier (and those crit numbers aren't including critical focus).
